  15.   If you're about to read Hugi for the first time:
  16.   . Make sure your computer is running using Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME
  17.     or compatible (e.g. Wine for Linux).
  18.   . Make sure at least version 3.0 of DirectX is installed.
  19.   . Start hugi33.exe. Press "OK" in the options screen, press a random button
  20.     when the title pic appears. Then upon the appearance of the main menu,
  21.     press F1. You'll get a list of keys with which you can handle Hugi and use
  22.     all special functions (e.g. searching, saving articles to html, printing
  23.     articles).

  38. [ Why the large archive? ]
  39.  
  40.   If you wonder why Hugi #33 is so large: One of the reasons is the MP3
  41.   music - the three tunes are about 17 MB together. In addition, hugi33.dat
  42.   is more than 12 MB. This is mostly due to the graphics. Since many
  43.   cliparts are stored in full-screen resolution (1024x768) so that you can
  44.   view them enlarged, they occupy more space than if they were scaled down.
  45.   This makes the archive of this Hugi issue much larger than the archive of
  46.   a typical earlier issue. However, many people nowadays have broadband
  47.   Internet access and therefore this is tolerable today.
